Farewell Oudtshoorn

Today Kate and I bade a fond farewell to Megan, Arnold and Dad John, as well as Sky and Blaze the dogs. We have enjoyed playing “fetch the ball” with them. The cats weren’t interested to say goodbye. Arnold’s “braii” was epic and Megan’s ostrich stroganoff delicious. The Wotherspoon family have done us proud. 😘😘

We drove to Swellendam for our overnight stop en route for Cape Town. As we set off from Oudtshoorn the terrain was flat and arid. We did of course spot ostriches along the way. We continued along to more mountainous, rocky terrain, stopping for lunch at the Blue Cow in Barrydale. A lovely spot with great food.

Our onward journey became more lush and green as we got closer to Swellendam. Our guest house was welcoming with delightful hosts and a lovely swimming pool.

We ended the day with a very good meal in the hotel restaurant. We have eaten very well on this trip. Next stop Cape Town.
